A Tour of Our Home
I’m fascinated by images of artists’ homes because they’re such a reflection of their work and style. However, part of me felt weird sharing a home tour online because it’s so personal. That’s why it felt like the perfect thing to share with you all, my trusted members of The Green Paint Society.
In recent years, I’ve made it my mission to hang up my own art in my home, something I used to find embarrassing. That’s why you’ll see my artwork hanging in many of the photos.
We’ve lived in our home for seven years now, and we have no intention of moving any time soon. It’s a 2,600 square foot Cape Cod - 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and sits on a half acre. It feels like the perfect size - almost too much space now, but something we can grow into. We live in a very wooded area. Across the street is a nature preserve, which our home faces, so you mostly see forest out the windows.
When we purchased our home, the first floor had just been completely redone. This was a huge relief, because we had just renovated the house we moved from in Columbus, Ohio. I was not up for more construction. We’ve since done minor projects like renovating a bathroom, installing a home theater, and fencing in the backyard for our dogs - basically just things that make the house work for us. Since the house was built in the 1960’s, we’ve also had to do our fair share of annoying repairs, like replacing some windows, purchasing a new AC unit, refinishing the upstairs floors, and adding insulation to the walls.
Now, on to the tour! If you click on the first image, you can continue to click through and view the images at full size. I’ve also labeled each image when you hover over it to help guide you. Thanks for stopping by!
