How to Ship Etsy Orders from Your House
Shipping from my house has CHANGED MY LIFE. I used to spend so much time driving back and forth from the post office. Now, I run my entire operation out of my home. I can ship products so much faster, and that makes my customers happier.
Shipping from your home is so simple, but I remember a time when the thought completely overwhelmed me.. In order to start shipping from your home, you only need these three things:
Postal Scale and Ruler
Packaging Supplies (I use flat document mailers).
USPS Pickup is my favorite method for home shipping. You can use UPS or Fedex as well, but USPS is by far the cheapest. Here are the simple steps you need to follow:
Package up your product. I recommend establishing a set of box sizes that you use every time. That way, you can save your presets on Etsy.
Weigh it on your postal scale and measure the item dimensions.
Purchase a label through Etsy Shipping (you will need to enter the item size and weight). To do this, just click on the specific order under Orders and Shipping. Then click Get Shipping Labels.
Print label and attach to box.
Schedule your USPS pickup here.
Leave item in a bag at your mailbox, or on your porch (somewhere where it won’t get wet if it rains).
And that’s it! You’re done! The postal service will pick it up from your mailbox or porch free of charge, and you won’t have to lift a finger.
