15 Winter Sketchbook Prompts for Artists

In my experience, Winter is what you make it. For those of us living further north, it can be awful this time of year. Or, it can be a wonderful time for reflection. A time to make a whole lot of art. Because what else is there to do?

Unfortunately, I don’t usually feel inspired this time of year. The months of January through April have my brain and body feeling sluggish. Despite that, the colder months have allowed me to produce some of my best work. I find that once I do come up with ideas (especially winter-themed ones), my resulting pieces have a magical feel. There’s something incredibly beautiful about having a Winter backdrop in our artwork.
